RHAPSODY OF REALITIES FRIDAY 31ST JANUARY. THE WORD IS YOUR LIFE Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever (1 Peter 1:23). When we say the Christian is born of God, we’re actually saying he’s born of the Word; he’s the Word’s offspring. That’s what we read in our opening verse. The Apostle James stated the same truth in James 1:18, saying, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” Then Paul took it to a climax and calls us the epistle (Word) of Christ: “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart” (2 Corinthians 3:3).
